Eyes. So many eyes, watching her. Every way she turned, strange eyes looked out of even stranger faces, moving, dancing, twirling, whizzing past in the colourful lights. A stranger took her hand, and she followed him, letting him lead her onto the dance floor, spinning her around and around and around until she no longer knew left from right, up from down, dark from light.
A laugh escaped her as the stranger spun her past more strange faces, pale as chalk, with red swirling lines and feathers and glitter. So many eyes. Always watching. Even when every human being looked like something out of this world, she managed to stand out. Her red dress whirled around her as she spun, her eyes shining from behind her blood red mask. A mask unlike any other. Her stranger smiled, she could just see it under the edge of something that seemed to be an eagle's head, and spun her again. She gave a small shriek of joy, and danced on. The eyes never left her.
